Custom Made Leather Cue Cases

By Tony C. Jones Snr

The American market is currently flooded with poor quality cue cases, manufactured by the thousands in the sweat shops of across Chine, before being shipped to the US. As a result, these cheap, low grade leather or PVC cases have made it increasingly difficult to find a good quality cue case, a custom made case which is made to the highest of standards.

With no personal attention given to detail and poor quality control, it is of little wonder that so many rejects make their way onto the market. This is of course, a result of modern day mass production.

However, in a tiny factory located on the green hills of Northern Thailand, there is a team of hand picked craftsmen, a team with more than one hundred years of collective experience in the leather trade. Together, this highly skilled team are producing custom made cue cases of unrivaled quality.

Many different types of leather are available for producing leather cue cases. At Talisman Billiards Accessories we concentrate our attention on very, very high quality, premium grade cowhide that has been chrome tanned and color fast treated. I am well known in the local industry for being extremely fussy about the quality if the leather that I buy. I have been known to reject up to four successive batches of leather from one supplier (ex-supplier now) because it didn't come up to my stringent requirements.

Even though one may come across a number of variations, there are only three basic styles of cue case on the market. Two of these three styles consist primarily of a rigid PVC pipe or molded plastic equivalent, surrounded by a suitable covering such as leather or PVC. The third style, known as a soft case, has no rigid interior construction.

Our ranges of Talisman cue cases are crafted with configurations to accommodate 2x4, 3x5, 3x6 and 4x8 but/shaft ratios. Case length is standard, based on a cue length of 32" although we can and do produce cases, specific to customer requirements.

In addition to offering custom configurations, leather choices and custom length cases, we also offer individual personalization in the form of emboss names or nicknames on the back of the cases.

Prior to embossing, details of the artwork must be agreed on by both the customer and I. Due to the permanent nature of embossing, clarification of details are essential in order to prevent misunderstandings and additional costs.

When doing the embossing we can also apply a gold or silver foil to the embossing. This makes the artwork come alive and looks particularly nice as it matches the gold or silver accessories on the cue case.

Currently, Talisman Billiards Accessories has two cue case designs available to buyers. Our first, Talisman Original, complete with double back straps for easy carrying, is designed in the classic cue case style. Hard wearing and extremely durable, this case offers total protection for your pool cues.

Second is the Talisman Tribal cue case, beautifully decorated with authentic original Maori art work from New Zealand. This extraordinary cue case will protect your prized cues in style. This case has a side handle, top handle and single side shoulder strap.

If you are looking for something a little more classy to carry your beloved cues around in and will not settle for second class. Then you deserve a Talisman custom leather cue case.
